BNR Sorb - A green world is a better world
Spill containment or Secondary Containment is where spills of chemicals, oils, sewage etc. are contained within a barrier or drainage system rather than being absorbed at the surface
Spill kits are used in the unlikely event of a spill to clean up hazardous products so they do not contaminate land or water. These kits may consist of absorbents that are sprinkled on top of the spill or sponge-like fabrics that are placed around the spill in order to contain it. The kit could also include protective equipment, such as goggles and gloves.
Sorbents are insoluble materials or mixtures of materials used to recover liquids through the mechanism of absorption, or adsorption, or both. Absorbents are materials that pick up and retain liquid causing the material to swell (50 percent or more).Adsorbents are insoluble materials that are coated by a liquid on its surface.
